Jamie Carragher has questioned how Arsenal have allowed Tottenham to be ‘better’ than them during the last five years, as he told the Overlap.

The TV pundit added that Arsenal have always been the ‘bigger’ club than Tottenham, but he questioned the change of power on the pitch in recent years.

On the last day of the recently-concluded Premier League campaign, Spurs secured Champions League football ahead of their north London rivals.

Once again, it was those from White Hart Lane celebrating finishing above Arsenal in the Premier League.

That was touched upon by Carragher, as he acknowledged that, during this period, Spurs have ‘won nothing’.

“For a long time now, certainly in the last four or five years, Tottenham have been better than Arsenal,” said Carragher.

“I know they have won nothing. I always say Arsenal is a bigger club than Tottenham. As a kid growing up, I know they are.

“But for the last four or five years, Tottenham have been better than Arsenal, how could that have been allowed to happen?”

CAN TOTTENHAM NOW ADD TROPHIES TO THEIR CABINET?

Even during this period of decline from Arsenal, they have still managed to add trophies – mainly the FA Cup – to their ranks.

Spurs, on the other hand, are still waiting to open their trophy cabinet since 2008, but could it finally happen under Conte’s stewardship?

The last time Daniel Levy had a trophy-laden coach in the dugout, he sacked him one week before a cup final.

One thing is for sure, he won’t do the same with Antonio Conte, but can he finally end their drought?

If the Italian can change that tide, then Spurs can really stick their chest out to their north London rivals.
