Hibs boss Jack Ross has admitted he hopes he can bring American international striker Chris Mueller into the club before January after agreeing a pre-contract with the Orlando City star.

Mueller will move to Easter Road when his contract is up at the end of the year and Ross called it the “worst-case scenario” that he arrives in the capital in January.
With Hibs aiming to reach the group stages of the Europa Conference League, Ross wants his best players available and thinks the American’s arrival will excite fans.
“Ideally we’d like to get him earlier,” Ross said.
“We have worked incredibly hard to bring him in. I think he’s a brilliant signing for us and a really exciting one. Naturally for me as a manager, I would like him in now.
“Six months is a long time in football management and you want your best players available so we are hopeful.
“The worst-case scenario is we get him in January. Now he has committed to us and it’s out in the public domain quite often that lends itself to getting him quicker and it would be brilliant if it did.”
Hibs fans should be excited by the American star’s signing
The signing of Mueller is one that should really help Hibs take another step forward and it is understandable that Jack Ross wants to get him in sooner.

The big concern for the Easter Road supporters will be that Mueller’s arrival signals the end of Kevin Nisbet’s time at the club.
Pairing the Scotland international with Mueller would make for a formidable partnership and if Hibs can keep Nisbet in Leith they would be in a great position to push to retain third this season.
