Heung-min Son has revealed that he misses his former Tottenham teammate Christian Eriksen a lot, when speaking to Danish news outlet TV3.
Tottenham’s No.7 said: “I miss Christian a lot because he is a great player. I could watch him play all day long. Danes should be very proud of him. I’m jealous because I wish he was South Korean so I could play with him on the national team.”
Son is clearly a lovely guy, who builds up strong connections with his teammates.
The South Korea international has already revealed in the past that he misses Kevin Wimmer greatly, so it’s clear he develops strong relationships.
Some Tottenham fans might join Son is saying that they also miss Eriksen, after seeing how he’s getting on at Inter Milan.
Admittedly, the Dane wasn’t great before José Mourinho sold him in January 2020 for a fee of £16.9 million.
However, Eriksen has rediscovered his best form over at the San Siro.
The 29-year-old only has three goals this season, but he became a central figure in Antonio Conte’s team during the second half of the season.
Eriksen’s dead-ball expertise and technical quality has been an important factor in Inter Milan’s dominance throughout 2021.
Conte’s side recently secured the Serie A title, ending a nine-year spell of dominance from Juventus.
It’s no wonder that Son misses Eriksen.
The pair played 180 games together for Tottenham, and combined for 16 goals in those outings.
They nearly won the Premier League together in 2016, and also played alongside each other on their way to the Champions League final in 2019.
It never felt as if Mourinho took to Eriksen, so it made sense to sell him as his contract was about to run out.
However, there can be no denying that the Dane was brilliant for Tottenham, and was clearly a good teammate to have at Hotspur Way.
