Taking the no. 30 shirt, Turner is expected to play deputy to Aaron Ramsdale next season, with the former New England Revolution star likely to feature for Arsenal in the UEFA Europa League and cup competitions, with Bernd Leno and Alex Runarsson set to leave in the coming weeks.
Signing for a reported $10m (£8m), Turner is Arsenal’s first signing from MLS and the first American to play for the club since academy graduate Gedion Zelalem, and based on Arteta’s first comments on the shot-stopper, the Gunners manager is excited to see what’s to come from the 28-year-old next season.
Arteta said on Turner: “Matt is an experienced goalkeeper who will bring high quality to our squad. He has shown with his performances in recent years in both MLS and at the international level with the United States that he is a goalkeeper who will give us added strength going into next season.”
Arsenal announcing Turner signing should lead to more arrivals

Turner might only be just Arsenal’s second signing of the summer, but the American’s arrival will only fuel the fire that is supporters expecting more new players to join the north London side in the coming weeks, starting with Jesus.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, a deal to bring the striker to the Emirates has been fully agreed, and with Arsenal now announcing the signing of Turner, fans will be hopeful that the Brazilian follows shortly given how long this transfer saga has been playing out for.
