Everton fans are none the wiser as to how their summer will pan out given that Farhad Moshiri is still in charge of the club.
Ideally, he needs to sell up, and head for the exit door, so a new buyer can come in and guide the club back to a road of promise.
Given the circumstances, Sean Dyche did a very good job at Everton during the recently concluded season and still managed to keep them up, despite their points deductions.
There were many success stories from within the Everton team, but with the summer transfer window, some players could be sold by the time the new Premier League season kicks off.
Jarrad Branthwaite was pretty unlucky to miss out on England’s Euro 2024 squad after Gareth Southgate axed him from his 26-man squad.
The Everton centre-back had an outstanding campaign and he has been generating transfer interest, including from Manchester United.
After months of speculation, Erik ten Hag is set to stay at Old Trafford this summer and there is talk of Manchester United wanting to bring Branthwaite on board to fix up their leaky and injury-prone defence.

But when Richard Keys heard that a bid of ‘£35 million’ has been put on the table by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Co, he expressed his surprise and stated ‘he’s having a laugh’, as he wrote in his blog.
The beIN SPORTS presenter thinks Manchester United and Ratcliffe are trying to do things on the ‘cheap’ as they push to sign one of Everton’s most important players.
Regardless of the Toffees’ financial situation, one thing is for sure, if Branthwaite has to leave, then they are going to want serious dough for his ball-playing talents.
Manchester United’s transfer interest in Jarrad Branthwaite
“Meanwhile – what on earth is Sunny Jim (Ratcliffe) doing at United?” questioned Keys.
“After hawking ten Hag’s job around Europe since the end of the season it turns out the incumbent keeps stays in post – although he was only fourth choice. What rank amateurism. The players must be on the floor. To a man they expected ten Hag to get the sack. What does Ratcliffe think will change? If he’d offered a proper salary I’m told Tuchel would’ve said ‘yes’.
“But Ratcliffe is trying to do everything on the cheap. £35m for Branthwaite? He’s having a laugh and it will bite him. He’ll also have to sack ten Hag before Christmas.”

Jarrad Branthwaite a future England star
The 21-year-old should have been part of the England squad now trying to win Euro 2024 in Germany.
Lewis Dunk has been a brilliant player for a number of years, but at Brighton this season, he was pretty poor and didn’t have the best of campaigns.

But Branthwaite shouldn’t worry too much. His time will come in these coming years, and if he carries down this current road, then he will be part of England’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
It’s just a case of whose colours will he be wearing when that time comes, because if Everton are to progress forward again, then they need their star centre-back to stay on board.
