Everton just ended a season that they want to quickly forget.
Points deductions, record-breaking winless run and another Premier League relegation battle.
The fans are looking and hoping for some light at the end of the tunnel. Perhaps Farhad Moshiri selling the club would be a starter, with no clear indication as to what will happen next.
Those are matters out of Sean Dyche’s hands. He has to think of next season because the Premier League will be much tougher.
Two of the relegated sides from the previous campaign – Leicester City, who won the Championship outright, and Southampton, who beat Leeds United in the play-off final, have returned.
Everton can’t afford to mess about and they need to get their summer transfer business right, regardless of how many hands you tie behind the club’s back.
One man who has been suggested in the recent week has been the struggling Manchester City star, Kalvin Phillips.
Ally McCoist was reacting to this possible transfer and feels Dyche could be the man for the player and this could work, as he told talkSPORT (29/05/24 at 8:55 am).
Kalvin Phillips at Everton
“I don’t disagree,” said McCoist on Dyche being the coach Phillips needs. “He has completely lost his way, hasn’t he?! Which is a great shame.
“I would be devastated if he went down the road of a Dele Alli. I still think he has an awful lot to offer. The right coach is everything to him and Sean Dyche might just be that kind of man. I really feel for him.
“His career is actually on the decline. The form has dipped. He hasn’t played enough games. He is nowhere near the England squad, so something has to give. You hope he gets a wee break somewhere. Whether it’s Everton and Sean Dyche, I am not so sure. It wouldn’t be the worst move for him.”

Kalvin Phillips’ downfall
From helping his boyhood club Leeds United earn promotion to earning a transfer to Manchester City.
Life was smooth and everything was at the top of the world for Phillips only a couple of years ago, before everything fell off, big time!

The 31-cap England star couldn’t even get off the bench under Pep Guardiola, before going out on loan to West Ham United in January and proceeding to make a mistake in nearly every game he played.
Everton fans might not like the idea of Phillips joining. But if Dyche wants him, then he should be trusted and backed.
