Spurs have reportedly offered AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie a contract worth €8m (£6.8m) a year.

According to Calcio Mercato, Tottenham are eager to sign the Ivorian star in the final week of the transfer window. Milan are struggling to agree on a new deal for Kessie, whose contract with the club expires next year.

The former Atalanta star was one of Milan’s best players last season as the Rossoneri secured UEFA Champions League football for the first time in years.

But with Kessie struggling to agree a new deal with Milan, Spurs have sensed an opportunity to sign the 24-year-old midfielder.

Whilst reports suggest that Kessie is eager to remain in Italian with the Milanese club, the Ivory Coast star could be swayed to join Spurs given their status in the Premier League.

Indeed, Milan’s participation in the Champions League will be a deciding factor on if Kessie wants to depart Italy for a move to Spurs. As does the increased salary the Premier League side are offering.
