Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter believe that a deal for Adama Traore could realistically happen, based on his manager’s latest comments.
Speculation is rife that Tottenham want to sign the Wolverhampton Wanderers winger.
AS in Spain reported last week that Spurs were weighing up a £34 million offer and that Nuno Espirito Santo himself – who brought him to Molineux – was keen to re-sign him.
Traore impressed against his potential employers last weekend as Nuno secured a 1-0 win away to his former club.
Asked on Tuesday night whether the 25-year-old would be staying at Wolves, his manager Bruno Lage said: “I think so.”
It wasn’t exactly an emphatic way in which to shut down all the rumours about his player.
And some Tottenham fans on Twitter believe that Lage’s uncertainty is telling. Here’s how they reacted to his comments:
The Lilywhites could and should use the remaining time left in the transfer window to sign attacking players.
Let’s face it now, former Sevilla star Bryan Gil could be a monster over the coming years in the Premier League, but the Spanish winger, who has never kicked a ball in England before, might take time to adapt, considering he is only 20.
In that regard, Traore looks like a veteran in comparison, but there’s no getting away from his lack of end product and if Nuno and Fabio Paratici have £34 million to splurge on wide player, they ought to set their sights just a little bit higher.
