Speaking on Everton’s YouTube channel, Frank Lampard has addressed Anthony Gordon’s future, stating that the 21-year-old is going nowhere this summer.
The Everton star had been linked with moves to both Tottenham and Newcastle, but in defiant style, Lampard has claimed that the Toffees’ number 10 will not be leaving Goodison Park anytime soon.
Everton have, of course, already sold Richarlison this summer, and while that was a blow, it sounds as though Gordon won’t be following the Brazilian out of the door.

Lampard spoke about Gordon.
“Anthony has his own style, we don’t want him doing pirouettes on the halfway line, we want what he was doing last season plus goals and assists, which Anthony is so hungry to do. He’s a link to the crowd, he’s a link to the fans, a local boy who gives everything,” Lampard said.
“He’s a great talent and he’s going nowhere, he’s our player. That was a hugely important thing for me, he’s the sort of player we want to build to go forward with. I’m delighted he has the number 10 and now I want him to continue to earn it.”

This is a huge boost for Everton heading into the new season.
Make no mistake about it, the Toffees are still looking over their shoulders heading into this new campaign after narrowly avoiding relegation, but keeping Gordon will give the Merseyside club a much greater chance of staying up.
Whether or not Newcastle and Tottenham now look elsewhere remains to be seen. After all, if Everton are indeed relegated this term, Gordon could be available on the cheap next summer, but, as ever, that is a risky game to play.
Gordon will be staying at Everton this season, and, as Lampard says, this could be the year he steps up to the next level for the Toffees.
