Bayern Munich legend Bixente Lizarazu cannot understand why Kingsley Coman would leave the Bundesliga champions for Premier League giants Liverpool, as he told BILD.
Then again, perhaps Coman feels he has achieved all he possibly can at the Allianz Arena.
He has certainly won all there is to win, from six Bundesliga titles to three DFB Pokals not to mention the Club World Cup and UEFA Supercup.
14 months ago, Coman scored the only goal of the game as Bayern defeated his old employers Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final too.
While Lizarazu would argue that the only way is down from here, the 25-year-old France international has never been one to shirk a challenge.
This is a guy who walked away from PSG as a wide-eyed teenager before turning his back on another European giant – Juventus – after just a single season in Turin.
Le10 Sport claimed in September that Coman is unlikely to extend a contract that expires in 2023.
It is understood that the quicksilver winger dreams of a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the front of the queue.
Should Kingsley Coman really leave Bayern Munich for Liverpool?
“I advise Kingsley from the bottom of my heart to stay with Bayern. He’s at an incredible club that wins titles every year and competes for the Champions League,” said Lizarazu, the 1998 World Cup winner.

“(At Bayern, there is) not just a top team around him but a serious, well-organized club that offers him everything.
“When we see what’s happening at Barcelona, he’s really lucky to be at a club like Bayern.”
Much has been made of Coman’s injury issues over the years – the man himself admitted back in 2018 that he would consider an early retirement if consigned to another lengthy spell on the sidelines.
But Coman appears to have put those fitness issues behind him of late, making 77 appearances in the last two seasons.
