Conor Coady has hailed Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Jordan Pickford as an ‘incredible’ player, as the Everton player told the Lion’s Den.

The Wolves loanee has played in front of Pickford at both club and the international level. He described it as a panic experience because Everton’s number one is ‘100-miles-per-hour’.

Pickford has always been a marmite-like figure for his error-prone ways, including during Everton’s defeat to Bournemouth prior to domestic football being halted for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

But, when donning the colours of England, he has been a different animal, and purely on the international stage, one of the best in the world, as Coady lauded his teammate.

“I love him to bits and I played with him as well at club level and that’s Jordan Pickford,” said Coady. “On a matchday and on the pitch, listen we speak to him about it all the time. He is an incredible keeper. A fantastic keeper. I am lucky enough to play with him at Everton as well.

“But he is non-stop on the pitch. He is 100 miles per hour. I obviously play in front of him and I have got him behind me. But non-stop you can hear him. Regarding anything.”

TOTTENHAM’S INTEREST IN PICKFORD

Everton have already sold one of their star men – Brazil’s World Cup star Richarlison – to Spurs, so could another follow suit?

Hugo Lloris is the man in between Tottenham’s sticks and he has been the club’s number one for well over a decade, but the signs are pretty clear that he needs replacing.

There are rumours suggesting that those in north London want Pickford, but as Everton proved with Richarlison, they might need a record-breaking figure to part ways with him.
