Ivan Toney has been long tipped to secure a transfer to Arsenal and help them win the Premier League title.

The 28-year-old has been one of the best strikers in the Premier League during the past few years.

Arsenal fans will know better than anyone given their past battles with Toney, but he was dragged back a peg or two in a costly manner last season.

Toney’s suspension for breaching betting rules seems to have taken the air out of the possibility of him moving to the Emirates.

Sources have told HITC Arsenal’s transfer stance on Toney, as the Brentford man looks for an exit this summer with only 12 months left on his current deal.

Yes, the summer transfer business has been slow for the Gunners so far, but they got their first major deal over the line on Monday.

A video captured Riccardo Calafiori’s first words to the Arsenal squad, with Mikel Arteta boosting his backline even further after they just conceded 29 goals last term.

And whilst some hope attention will turn to the forward areas and the possibility of Toney joining, the Bees frontman might have to look elsewhere.

Highbury Squad host Sophie Nicolaou shared the vibe Arsenal fans in the USA are giving off about Toney and a potential transfer.

The Arsenal fan explained how ‘there doesn’t seem to be much talk or buzz’ about Toney possibly moving to the Emirates, as she told talkSPORT (28/07/24 at 3:20 pm).

She explained that is the brutal reality for the England man and Arsenal fans will now have to get used to Kai Havertz being their leading man up top.

Ivan Toney’s chances of signing for Arsenal

“There doesn’t seem to be much talk or buzz about Ivan Toney on the ground here in Los Angeles,” said Nicolaou

“I don’t know if it was more talk than actual reality (about Toney joining). I think Arsenal fans need to start accepting that Kai Havertz will be that number nine.

“From January onwards, following that Dubai getaway, Havertz came back fresh, revitalised and really proved himself in that position. I know fans want him to score 20+ goals, but again, he is another player who connects play. The way people talk about him. The way staff talk about Kai Havertz, not only what a good guy he is, but his intelligence. What he is able to do on the pitch and the way he opens play for other players.”

Arsenal need cover for Bukayo Saka

Forget about a number nine, Arsenal need someone to come in and really push Bukayo Saka for a starting spot because the bench strength isn’t good enough.

Sources have told HITC that West Ham United are keen to do a deal for Reiss Nelson, as the Hale-End star is expected to depart this summer.

Nelson won’t be the only academy star to leave. Emile Smith Rowe is closing in on a transfer to Fulham.

When that money comes in, Arsenal need it to bring in a proven right-sided winger, who can push and challenge Saka for a place in the XI.
