Former Premier League owner Simon Jordan believes Mick Beale deserves ‘a lot of plaudits’ for reportedly turning down Wolves in favour of staying at Championship leaders QPR, speaking to talkSPORT (20 October, 11.50am).

In the aftermath of Queens Park Rangers’ 3-0 victory over Cardiff City on Wednesday night – a result that saw the West London outfit climb to the summit of the second-tier table – Beale reiterated his ‘dream’ to coach at the very highest level.

But the 42-year-old also made a couple of intriguing admissions. Admissions that may have indicated he was getting cold feet about potentially taking over at Molineux.

“If an offer comes in officially, you don’t have to take it,” Beale tells West London News. “You have to weigh up everything. There are a lot of questions you need to get answers to.

“Yes (it would be difficult to leave QPR). Football is about feelings and relationships. We’ve built strong relationships here.”

Mick Beale reportedly turns down Wolves to stay at QPR

Was this a sign of things to come?

Because, according to talkSPORT, Beale has now opted to stay loyal to QPR, after holding further talks with a Wolverhampton Wanderers side now in the Premier League’s relegation zone following Tuesday’s 2-1 comeback defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

And former Palace owner Jordan, having often derided the lack of loyalty in the modern game, is pleased to see Beale commit himself to a QPR side he joined on a three-year deal only a couple of months ago.

“I think that’s well done. That’s commendable,” Jordan says. “I think it will serve him well. It shows people he has the courage of his convictions, that he rewards people who back him. He will benefit from it.

“(Showing loyalty) is a rarity. And he deserves a hell of a of a lot of plaudits for it.”

Where do Wolves go from here, then? Talks with Julen Lopetegui have already broken down. Nuno Espirito Santo is staying at Al-Ittihad. And the Black Country outfit appear to have decided against taking a punt on Peter Bosz’s feast-and-famine football.
