What happened to Dele Alli? The Everton man’s career has now gone from bad to worse as his loan spell as Besiktas turns sour.

The England international was shipped off to Turkey by the Toffees back in August after struggling to impress at Goodison Park under Frank Lampard.

Alli started off well in Turkey with a goal in his second Süper Lig outing for Besiktas, netting in a 3-2 win over Ankaragücü, but he has only scored three goals across 15 appearances in total.

Now, the 26-year-old’s time in Turkey looks to be over.

What happened to Dele Alli?

Well – according to Turkish outlet Takvim – Alli has been dropped by Şenol Güneş and will no longer be involved in matchday squads.

The Milton Keynes-born midfielder has been left out of the last two Süper Lig squads by Güneş as Besiktas recorded a 2-1 win over Ankaragücü and also a 2-0 victory against Basaksehir.

Takvim believe that Alli will continue to watch from the sidelines until the end of the season, before returning to Everton – his time as Besiktas appears to be over.

It comes after the England international was taken off after just 28 minutes against Şanlıurfaspor back in December, as Besiktas found themselves 2-0 down to the third division side within 15 minutes of a Turkish Cup tie.

Güneş clearly felt Alli was letting the side down, and to make matters worse, the Besiktas fans booed him off the pitch.

It really is a mystery as to why Alli’s career has collapsed so significantly.

The Besiktas No.11 scored 67 goals and provided 61 assists for Tottenham, making a name for himself as one of the best in Europe while also winning 37 caps for England.

Nobody would have predicted such a drastic downfall – hopefully, Alli can find his feet again when he returns to Everton this summer, with a new manager at the helm in Sean Dyche.
