England’s Euro 2020 campaign hasn’t lived up to the expectations of some fans on Twitter – leading to drastic calls for Rangers boss Steven Gerrard to build on his fantastic success at Ibrox and replace Gareth Southgate.
The 0-0 draw with Scotland at Wembley compounded a fairly poor opening game win and after seeing Gerrard lead Rangers to their first title in a decade, the 114-times capped Gerrard is the ideal replacement for some.

With England’s place in the next round virtually assured ahead of the Matchday 3 clash with the Czech Republic, there isn’t any chance of a sudden change of management.
Rangers would be unlikely to give up their manager without a fight either as they prepare for arguably the club’s biggest season in years with a guaranteed place in the Champions League group stage on offer for the winners of the Scottish Premiership.
The Gers also have a chance to reach the groups this year, entering the Champions League at the Third Qualifying Round as a reward for their dominant title win.
While there is always a chance that Southgate could step down/be sacked after the Euros, opening the door for Gerrard to become England boss, the Rangers manager won’t be making a sudden dash for Wembley just yet.
Here are some of the comments from England fans touting the Rangers boss as Southgate’s replacement:
