Fabrizio Romano has told CaughtOffside that the race to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans is still open, amid links with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Xavi’s Barcelona.
Arsenal and Barcelona have been strongly linked with Tielemans, who is out of contract at Leicester at the end of the season.
The Sun reported last month that Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in the Belgium international midfielder.
Marca claimed this week that Barcelona are eyeing a free transfer for the 25-year-old next summer, but the La Liga giants think that he has already made a deal with another club.
Romano, who has previously said that Tielemans is really attracted by the prospect of playing for Arsenal, has claimed that the Leicester star has yet to decide on his next move and is still open about his future.

Update on Arsenal and Barcelona target Youri Tielemans
The journalist said: “Tielemans has not given his word to any club, yet. It’s still open and he will decide at the right moment.
“Barcelona are linked to all the free agent players on the market as they always monitor the free agents market, but it’s not something advanced as things stand.”
What next?
We think that Youri Tielemans could wait until the summer of 2023 to make a decision on his future.
Arsenal and Barcelona will retain their interest in the midfielder in the coming months, and, as a free agent, he will be able to ask for a lot of money in salary.
It will also give the Belgian more time to evaluate his options instead of making a decision on his future in the middle of the season when he really does not have to.
