Micah Richards has stated that he is certain Tottenham Hotspur’s recently-appointed academy coach, Yaya Toure, will return to Manchester City in the future.
The former Manchester City defender shared that ‘you want to see legends of the club back here’, but he thinks a big reason why Toure took the Tottenham job is that his family live in London.
Tottenham added a few new faces to their academy coaching set-up this summer, with legendary midfielder Toure also being joined by one of Spurs’ best-ever strikers, Jermain Defoe.

From bossing the middle of the park during his days in England’s top-flight, as well as around Europe, such as legendary clubs like Barcelona.
It’s going to be some treat for those Spurs youngsters to be taught the midfield craft by one of the best in Toure and then one of the most lethal and underrated finishers of the Premier League era in Defoe.
But could Toure’s current path lead him back to where he made a name for himself in English football? Well, his former Manchester City teammate thinks so, as he told Sky Sports (02/10/22 at 1:10 pm).
“Is it a bit of a shame that he’s doing his coaching career at Tottenham, rather than Man City being able to make use of those talents?” asked presenter Kelly Cates.
Richards responded: “Yes, obviously, you want to see the legends of the club back here in some capacity. But I think, for him, his family live in London and he is a big family man.
“He got an opportunity at Spurs, maybe one day he will come back because the fans really adore him here. I just think he’s learning his trade and I think one day he will come back.”

TOURE ONE OF THE PREMIER LEAGUE’S BEST
When Toure was on the ball and in full swing, there was no stopping the thunderous nature in which he would just destroy opponents.
He was like a battering ram just running through midfield, with composure, a brilliant pass, ability to finish and outstanding technique from dead-ball situations.
Whilst in a different role, Man City now have a player causing even more havoc in the final third because a certain Erling Haaland is just breaking records around him.
Three hat-tricks in eight games is just frightening and beyond remarkable for a player that probably hasn’t even got warm in his seat yet.
