Trevor Sinclair has told talkSPORT that Jamie Vardy has set James Maddison the ‘blueprint’ for him to stay at Leicester and snub Arsenal.
With only weeks remaining of the 2021 summer transfer window, one man that might be a talking point until August 31st is Maddison.
Arsenal are admirers of the 24-year-old playmaker, but will he make the move that Vardy didn’t make many years ago?
In 2016, after the Foxes won the Premier League title, Vardy was touted to join the Gunners, but he stayed put as Arsene Wenger told beIN SPORTS that he offered him ‘a lot of money’ to move to North London.
And now former England winger, Sinclair, shared that the same could happen with Maddison.
“I think Jamie Vardy has given him the blueprint,” said Sinclair. “He was linked with Arsenal a few years ago.
“He stayed. He has been brilliant for Leicester. They have managed. He has retired from international duty. New training facilities. One of the best managers in the world.
“You look at that midfield. He is playing in front of Ndidi and Tielemans. You know what you are getting with them kind of players.
“They brought in another lad from Italy in Soumare, who looks an absolute handful. He looks so physical.”

It has been a summer full of transfer drama from Lionel Messi heading to PSG and Jack Grealish becoming the first £100 million footballer.
A lot of crazy deals have happened and might still happen as only a few weeks remain until deadline day.
So, from that aspect, it’s probably not over if you are an Arsenal fan.
And it also needs to be noted that they did secure the signing of Thomas Partey last summer on deadline day, although his release clause helped them in that regard.
