Speaking on the ITV Football Show, Andros Townsend has tipped reported Liverpool target Kylian Mbappe to be the Player of the Tournament at Euro 2020.
The PSG forward will lead the line for France, who are the pre-tournament favourites, and Townsend expects him to make his mark at the Euros.
Mbappe was arguably one of the best players at the 2018 World Cup, and he’ll hope to follow that up with another incredible showing at the Euros.
What’s been said
Townsend was asked to predict who the Player of the Tournament will be at the Euros, and he reckons Mbappe will shine bright.
“Yeah, it could be six or seven players from six or seven teams, but I’m going to go for Kylian Mbappe. I’ve predicted France to be the winners and he’s a big piece in that squad. He terrorises defences and I can’t look beyond Kylian Mbappe for me,” Townsend said.

Transfer audition
Mbappe’s performances at the Euros could be career-defining and it could also see him earn a big-money move this summer.
It’s no secret that Mbappe may be on the market as his PSG contract enters its final year, and Liverpool have been strongly linked, as have Real Madrid.
Mbappe reportedly wants to join Liverpool this summer, and while the Reds aren’t brimming with cash at the moment, they may be convinced to break the bank if Mbappe puts on a show at the Euros.
We certainly don’t envy any defender that has to come up against the Frenchman this summer.
