Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested on the club’s official website that he is disappointed that Alisson was called into action against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Klopp’s Liverpool got the better of Brighton 2-0 away from home in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah scored for the Reds.

It was a pretty comfortable win for Liverpool, but there were one or two occasions towards the end when Brazil international goalkeeper Alisson had to make saves.

And Klopp is not happy.

Klopp said: “The second half started again with a situation for Brighton but then after that we controlled it again, scored the second goal and in the last few minutes, they had a chance.

“Ali is world-class goalie but from my understanding he should not have to show that in each game. He showed it again and that’s good, that’s why we have a clean sheet.”

Alisson a key figure for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool

In our opinion, Alisson is one of the most important players for Liverpool and is a safe pair of hands between the posts.

We do not always hear pundits going gaga over Alisson every week, but he does his job well and effectively.

Now, of course, Liverpool have one of the best defences in the world, but all teams concede chances.

And that’s when Alisson, 29, rises to the occasion.

It is not always easy for goalkeepers to be alert when most of the play is happening in the opposition’s penalty area.

The Brazilian is always alert and comes up with match-winning saves.
