Don Hutchison has shared that he text Frank Lampard to ‘stick in and keep grafting’ as pressure mounts on the Englishman at Everton, as he told ESPN.
The former Everton midfielder added that Lampard text him back by saying ’thanks and appreciate’ the support he is showing during this difficult period for the former Chelsea man.
After 18 Premier League games, Everton are sitting in the Premier League’s relegation zone, with their most recent league defeat resulting in Brighton rocking up to Goodison Park and scoring four goals.

If a game summed up the club’s current mood, then that was the match, especially the early second-half collapse, including Idrissa Gueye’s horror back pass.
Whilst there was a fightback, in terms of performance, in the FA Cup against Manchester United. There are still alarming issues to sort out.
This isn’t going to happen overnight because Everton have been on their knees for years now, as Hutchison shares what he texted the man in the dugout.
“I did drop him a little text,” said Hutchison. “He took a while to come back. It was good, he just said ‘thanks mate, appreciate it’.
“It’s one of them that you send someone. He’s going through a bad time. I just said ‘stick in and keep grafting’. One of them, just kept it basic.”

PROBLEMS BEYOND LAMPARD
Everton could decide to sack Lampard, but in truth, it’s not going to sort out the issues at the club, which stem beyond what is happening on the pitch.
Many fans are pointing towards the board and the futures of Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright.
The Goodison Park faithful are making the point that, until they are out of the doors, then the club’s current problems and past long-term issues won’t be solved.
And, in truth, when you have had so many managers, players and CEOs sitting in the boardroom, yet the same issues are continuing to surface, then Moshiri and Kenwright need to be questioned.
