Ally McCoist says Marco Silva is ‘ready’ to take the Tottenham Hotspur manager’s job, but the Fulham boss ‘won’t get it’.
Name number 1000 has been added to Tottenham’s managerial list this summer amid rumours that Antonio Conte will head for the exit door.
Mauricio Pochettino is the obvious name mentioned given his past history with the club, but Marco Silva’s name has also now been thrown into the hat.

The 45-year-old’s previous big gig was at Everton, but like many managers on Merseyside, he struggled and was booted out before picking himself up at free-scoring Fulham.
In terms of profile, Silva is an attack-minded manager, who is a very good man-manager rather than a disciplinarian like Antonio Conte and previously, Jose Mourinho.
Either way, former Scotland International Ally McCoist can’t see Silva being at Hotspur Way anytime soon even though he is ‘ready’ for it, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (14/03/23).
“He (Silva) has certainly recovered from the dodgy spell he had at Everton,” said McCoist. “Fulham have been fantastic. Fulham, Brighton and Brentford have been doing really well.
“Is he ready for it? He is probably ready for it. I don’t think he will get it – (but) not yet (sure about Silva).”

TOTTENHAM NEED A YOUNG MANAGER
That’s two trophy-laden managers Tottenham have had in their dugout and the duo have failed to add to the club’s cabinet.
This Spurs team needs refreshing and re-building with young players. That isn’t Conte’s forte.
This is where the under-fire Daniel Levy needs to bring in a young manager that plays the style of football Tottenham fans want to see and allow him to build.
