Troy Deeney has raved about reported Liverpool target and Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard on talkSPORT (May 3, 2021).
The Watford striker is a big fan of Edouard and believes that the Celtic star is good enough to play in the Premier League.
Deeney has outlined the attributes of the 23-year-old French striker, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
Journalist Ian McGarry said on the Transfer Window Podcast in March that Liverpool, as well as Arsenal, are chasing Celtic striker Edouard, as covered by HITC Sport.
Deeney said on talkSPORT (May 3, 2021), as transcribed by The Scottish Sun: “Edouard I like. Morelos is different, in front of goal when he is on form he is different class but Edouard is another I really like. He takes his goal. I think he is suited to the top flight in England.
“He is powerful, he is quick enough and has an eye for goal. His goal-scoring record – I don’t think he has been particularly good consistently this season with Celtic – but his goalscoring record for the French-Under-21s is remarkable. He could play in a team in the big league. Absolutely.”
Would Odsonne Edouard make Liverpool better?
Edouard is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and a player Liverpool legend and Rangers manager Steven Gerrard rates highly.
The striker is not having the best of seasons, but the Frenchman has still scored quite consistently.

According to WhoScored, the 23-year-old has scored 16 goals and provided three assists in the Scottish Premiership and scored two goals in the Europa League for Celtic this season.
Deeney himself is a striker, and his comments about Edouard should encourage Liverpool fans.
While Liverpool have a very good front-line, only Mohamed Salah has found the back of the net consistently this season, with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino struggling in front of goal.
The Egypt international forward has found the back of the net 20 times in the Premier League and six times in the Champions League, according to WhoScored.
Edouard would make Liverpool better in attack and would give manager Jurgen Klopp another valuable option.
