Tottenham Hotspur fans aren’t a happy bunch following Roy Keane’s comments about Harry Kane.
Following England’s goalless draw against Scotland on Friday at Euro 2020, the outspoken Keane told ITV that the Spurs man is a ‘big problem’.
It wasn’t the best of games from Tottenham’s main man, who struggled to have a sniff at goal at Wembley.
After the match, Keane claimed that England’s number nine looked ‘leggy’ and perhaps he has been ‘distracted’ by rumours about his future.
But there were comments that didn’t sit well with the Spurs faithful.
What didn’t help Kane’s cause is that he was subbed by Gareth Southgate in the second half and it wasn’t a good look on the player given the type of performance he produced.
But many have pointed towards Southgate’s tactics and the lack of service around him as being the real problem.
When Southgate plays two defensive-minded players in midfield and he doesn’t allow the fullbacks to march forward, then it does sap any attacking quality the Three Lions have.
Plus, with Jack Grealish warming the bench, Jude Bellingham only being used for a few minutes and Jadon Sancho not being used at all then it’s no wonder Kane is struggling.
It’s pretty simple, if Kane is fed then he will score. That has been proven time and time again in the Premier League.
And during the 2018 World Cup in Russia when he won the Golden Boot, as England reached the semi-finals.
Perhaps some of the same ingredients need to be required here rather than bashing one of the best forwards in the world.
