Ledley King has claimed that Christian Eriksen has ‘so much quality’ amid talk of a possible return to Tottenham for the Brentford star.
Over the weekend, Spurs recorded a goalless draw against the Bees, with Eriksen being one of the best players on the pitch.
Antonio Conte was the guy who purchased Eriksen for Inter Milan from Spurs in 2019 – and now there are suggestions he could go in for him a second time.
One thing is for sure, the north London club need a player of Eriksen’s ilk in the middle of the park, especially with Harry Kane having to seemingly play two roles.
Tottenham legend King was full of praise for the 30-year-old and he was also asked if a return to the club would be a good move for the player, as he told Premier League Productions.
“He has been great for them since coming in,” said King. “A player of his quality, coming into the squad. I am sure the Brentford players will be looking at him and trying to impress him by raising their game.
“He has so much quality to him. Two-footed. He can provide assists and it’s great to see him back.
“The quality he has, you don’t lose that. What he would have been lacking is a little bit of sharpness – You can see he hasn’t lost any of his ability.
On if moving to Spurs would be a good move: “He’s the type of player that we have missed over the last year or two. The player that can pick the ball up deeper and find the passes.
“We see Harry (Kane) having to do it quite a lot. Eriksen is someone who can do that from deep positions. So, that type of player, for sure. Whether it will be Christian again, I’m not sure. He seems happy where he is.”

Eriksen’s return to the Premier League was already an emotional one given what happened to the player at Euro 2020.
And it would be even more emotional for all involved if he dons the Tottenham colours once more.
The positive is that Conte has worked with him before, but the Denmark international did take time to settle into how the Italian wanted to play.
It wasn’t until Inter’s title-winning season, and the second half of the campaign, that Eriksen started to thrive under Conte’s stewardship.
