According to TuttoSport, Newcastle United are now interested in Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
The Magpies have new owners and it seems as though they’re immediately looking at how they can improve the playing squad at St James’ Park, with Brozovic reportedly being a player they’re keen on.
The midfielder is undoubtedly a top talent. After all, he’s a Serie A winner and has played a full 90 minutes in a World Cup final.
However, perhaps the biggest indication of his talent is the glowing review he had from Antonio Conte during his time at Inter.
What’s been said?
Conte had nothing but good things to say about Brozovic.
“Brozo can get better. He can get better with his passes to the attack, he can set up more goals,” said the former Inter coach
“We are working on this. I think he needs to also work on his defensive game. A holding midfielder must be good in defence too. He can become world-class.
“I want him to become a world-class player.”

Perfect signing
Brozovic is out of contract in 2022, and while Newcastle can splash the cash under their new ownership, they’d still be wise to be savvy.
Brozovic is a real talent, and with Conte being linked to the Newcastle job in recent days, this would be a very exciting signing if the Italian were to take the reins at St James’ Park.
Newcastle certainly need to add some quality to their midfield and this signing would be a huge step towards making that happen.
