Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has predicted that the north London side will struggle to qualify for Europe based on their Monday night performance against Crystal Palace. And supporters agree with their former striker.
Speaking as a pundit on CBS Sport’s UEFA Champions League coverage last night via the Mirror, Henry was asked if he believes Arsenal will qualify for Europe next season.
The Gunners failed to qualify for Europe last season for the first time in 26 years as Arsenal finished eighth in the Premier League standings with no silverware.
And this season could well be another year where Arsenal fail to qualify for any sort of continental football. The north London side have had a mixed bag of results, and their performance against Palace was poor.
And for Henry, more performances like that could see Arsenal fail to reach Europe again. When asked if his former side could qualify, the retired attacker said: ‘”Not with what I saw recently.”
Indeed, the striker’s comment was a damning statement to how the Gunners operate under Mikel Arteta. Arsenal have a mountain to climb, and results have to improve soon.
Arsenal fans agree with Henry’s Europe prediction
