The Saints had several player departures but no incomings in January and some fans genuinely fear for the rest of the Premier League season.

Many Southampton fans enjoyed the feelgood factor at the club after Ralph Hasenhuttl was appointed to the Saints hotseat just shy of two months ago and the ensuing upturn in form.

Since taking over at St Mary’s, the Austrian has overseen nothing short of a revolution, with things changing for the better on the pitch – namely getting the club out of the Premier League‘s bottom three – and off the pitch.

Numerous Saints players, including Nathan Redmond, Jan Bednarek and Matt Targett, have sung Hasenhuttl’s praises, while many of the fans are also delighted with his results, passion, and likeable personality.

However, alarm bells have begun ringing among some of the Southampton fanbase due to the fact the club has shipped out numerous players but failed to bring in any additions, as noted by Somerset Live.

The likes of Steven Davis, Manolo Gabbiadini, Cedric Soares and Jake Hesketh have all departed, either permanently or on loan until the end of the season, with nobody signed either as a replacement or as an improvement.

Given Southampton are still in a precarious position in the lower reaches of the Premier League table, some fans are worried about the coming weeks as the wear and tear of the season continues and players become ever more susceptible to injuries, fatigue and suspension.
