Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis has told Gazette Live that his loan targets want to join the club, amid speculation linking Boro with moves for Everton duo Yannick Bolasie and Muhamed Besic and Southampton left-back Matt Targett.

According to The Mirror, Middlesbrough are interested in signing winger Bolasie and defensive midfielder Besic on loan from Everton in the summer transfer window.

The Sunday Mirror (print edition, page 64, Sunday, August 19, 2018) has claimed that Tony Pulis’s side are keen on signing 22-year-old Targett – who can also operate as a wing-back – on loan from Southampton (click here to read more).

While not mentioning any names, Boro manager Pulis has said that his loan targets want to move to the Championship club.

Pulis told Gazette Live: “It’s been hard trying to get players full stop. We know what players we want. We’ve spoken to clubs, it’s just a case of getting the deals done, that’s the big issue.

“Without going into too much detail, I think the players know about our interest, and from everything that’s been said or not been said, I think the players would like to come.

“That’s not me having spoken to them, but it’s other people telling me stuff. It’s just about doing the deals.”

Good signings for Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough have made a strong start to the season and are one of the favourites to win the Championship title.

Bolasie, Besic and Targett all are very good players who would enhance the quality of the current Boro squad, and the trio would be smart signings for Pulis’s team.
