The Southampton left-back is said to be interesting Middlesbrough and Aston Villa after failing to seal a permanent move to Fulham.

Southampton are ready to loan out Matt Targett, with Middlesbrough and Aston Villa keen, according to the Sunday Mirror (August 19th, page 64).
The Saints are said to have rejected an offer worth more than £15 million from Fulham on deadline day, as the Cottagers turned to reported Middlesbrough and Aston Villa target Joe Bryan instead.
That has left both Championship clubs short at left-back and Targett likely to find regular opportunities hard to come by.
But the 22-year-old could yet be handed a lifeline by Middlesbrough or Aston Villa, who can still sign players on loan or loan-to-buy deals up to and including August 31st.

A product of Southampton’s academy system, Targett helped Fulham to promotion last season – the second half of which he spent on loan at Craven Cottage.
He has also played 27 times in the Premier League and has 12 caps for England’s Under-21s.
