Chelsea progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup and it wasn’t just hat-trick hero Tammy Abraham who impressed

Tammy Abraham may be walking away with the match ball and the headlines, but there was another Chelsea youngster on show this weekend who thoroughly impressed fans.
Former Rangers youth Billy Gilmour made a big impression in the weeks prior to last year’s shutdown, winning consecutive man-of-the-match awards for his performances against Liverpool and Everton.
His appearances have been limited this season, but he took the opportunity to shine in the snow as Frank Lampard’s men saw off Luton Town in the FA Cup fourth round.
Abraham scored all three in a 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge, with 19-year-old Gilmour pulling the strings from midfield.
With 12 Scotland Under-21 caps under his belt, Gilmour could soon find his way into former Chelsea assistant Steve Clarke’s full squad.
Those who watched him play the full 90 minutes on Sunday were certainly impressed.
After the game, Goal’s Chelsea correspondent Nizaar Kinsella quoted Lampard as saying: “At the moment, he won’t go on loan but we will keep it open until the end of the month.”
