Gary Lineker has made an observation about Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has also given his verdict on Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka.

So, what has Gary Lineker said about Arsenal star Martin Odegaard? Let’s take a look.

Gary Lineker comments on Arsenal star Martin Odegaard

Well, Gary Lineker has been speaking about Arsenal duo Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker was impressed by how England international winger Saka and Norway international attacking midfielder Odegaard played for Arsenal against Burnley away from home at Turf Moor in the Premier League this past weekend.

Arsenal won 5-0. Saka scored two goals. Odegaard scored a goal and gave an assist.

Match of the Day presenter Lineker has noted that Odegaard’s numbers this season have not been as great as they were in the last campaign.

The £30 million (Sky Sports) playmaker has scored five goals and given six assists in 22 Premier League matches for Arsenal this season.

During the 2022-23 campaign, Odegaard scored 15 goals and provided seven assists in 37 Premier League games for the Gunners.

Lineker said on The Rest is Football podcast: “Saka back to his best, although I don’t think he has ever been poor. Let’s make that absolutely clear.

“The same I think you can say for Odegaard. He has not quite had the numbers that he had the previous season, but he was brilliant again yesterday.”

My View: Martin Odegaard will play a big role for Arsenal this season

In my opinion, Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard is a major player for Mikel Arteta’s side.

I think that if Arsenal are to win the Premier League title and perhaps even the UEFA Champions League this season, then Odegaard will have to stay on top of his game.

The former Real Madrid player has not exactly been at his best this season until recently. But, he is now in form and is hitting top gear at exactly the right time.

Arsenal are doing extremely well and could beat Liverpool and Manchester City to the Premier League title this season.
