Speaking on his podcast, Glenn Hoddle has been examining Tottenham’s recent transfer business, claiming that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been excellent.
The pundit believes that Spurs have mis-spent some of their transfer budget in recent years, claiming that some of the players who have come in simply haven’t been good enough.
However, he believes that Daniel Levy has found a gem in Hojvjerg, claiming that he’s been excellent since coming in.
“I don’t think the XI at the moment is good enough and it needs some improvement,” Hoddle said.
“There’s been some money spent, but it hasn’t been spent wisely. I think Hojbjerg has been excellent, but other than that you’re questioning some of the players that have come in, they haven’t performed whether or not they’re great players or good enough, they haven’t performed for one reason or another.”

Hoddle is absolutely right.
It’s hard to claim that the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Matt Doherty or even Gareth Bale have been fantastic additions in recent years, but Hojbjerg has definitely improved Tottenham.
The Dane has been exceptional, and if Levy can pull of a few transfers of a similar ilk this summer, Spurs could once again find themselves pushing for a top four spot next season.
Fingers crossed Tottenham can begin to do some better work in the transfer market.
