The 26-year-old is reported to have courted interest from Tottenham Hotspur last summer.

Owen Hargreaves and Harry Redknapp have both said on BT Sport that they would like to see Wilfried Zaha at Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham haven’t signed a single player for over a year now after being completely inactive during the summer and January transfer windows.

Despite their lack of recruits, Spurs are having another good season and Mauricio Pochettino’s side beat Newcastle 1-0 on Saturday to move second in the Premier League table for the day.

Redknapp had earlier revealed that Pochettino did not want any players in either window, arguing that it is very difficult to strengthen that squad.

But the former Lilywhites manager and ex-England international Hargreaves concede that the Crystal Palace winger – who earns £110,000 per week at Selhurst Park [Silly Season] – would represent an upgrade.

Hargreaves said on BT Sport: “I’d like to see Zaha at Tottenham. He has something different, can beat a player.

Redknapp added: “Yeah, he’d be an option for sure. Someone like that would be an option.”

Tottenham will be moved into their new stadium by the summer and hopefully for their fans’ sake it will see a loosening of the purse strings to some extent.

The North Londoners were linked with a £70 million move [The Daily Mail] for the 26-year-old last summer, though a transfer never materialised. Time will tell whether he is back on their radar.
