Didi Hamann wants to see Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane secure a transfer to Bayern Munich. He feels time is running out if the striker wants to win the Champions League title.

Spurs crashed out of the UEFA competition on Wednesday night after failing to overturn a 1-0 deficit against AC Milan. Brahim Diaz had given the Rossoneri a narrow first-leg lead by scoring after seven minutes at San Siro. Another timid display would then cost Tottenham.

The Premier League team rarely showed much attacking creativity against the Serie A side in either leg. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Kane would fashion Tottenham’s best efforts in the reverse affair. Yet Mike Maignan had an answer to their mere two shots on target all night.

Tottenham bowed out as Bayern Munich made the Champions League quarter-finals

Bayern Munich, on the other hand, cruised through to the quarter-finals with a 3-0 win on aggregate over Paris Saint-Germain. Der FCB won the first leg 1-0 in Paris before enjoying a comfortable night in Bavaria. A VAR decision and an offside flag ruled out two more goals.

The Allianz Arena outfit have now made the final eight in each of the last four seasons. But the Bundesliga powerhouse have not advanced further since lifting their sixth title so far in 2019/20. Just Real Madrid (14) and AC Milan (7) have secured the UEFA crown more often.

Didi Hamann hopes to see Harry Kane secure a transfer to the Allianz Arena soon

Hamann has now told Kane that he might need to leave Tottenham to win the Champions League with Bayern Munich interested. He would also like the striker to move to Bavaria as time is running out for the England ace to join a team that can challenge for a UEFA crown.

“I would like to see him play for a team that can win the Champions League,” Hamann has told Sky Germany. “He’s turning 30 and it would probably be his last chance this summer or next to do anything else.”

The ex-Bayern Munich and Liverpool midfielder added: “If you want to win the Champions League, there are few addresses that are better than FC Bayern. They are there every year and have a great squad.”

Bayern Munich are interested in buying Kane but know Tottenham will not grant a transfer on their terms, per 90min. They had hoped to strike a deal at €50m (£44m), believing he is worth what FC Barcelona paid for Robert Lewandowski. But the Pole is five years his elder.

Der FCB now accept that Spurs will never agree to sell Kane that cheaply. Even though the England captain, who turns 30 in July, enters the final year of his £200k-a-week deal in July.
