Bayern Munich now accept they cannot secure a transfer with Tottenham Hotspur for Harry Kane at their desired price. But the Bundesliga giants will push for a deal over the summer.
That is according to 90min, which reports Bayern Munich are paying close attention to any attempts Tottenham make to convince Kane to sign a new contract. The 29-year-old is due to enter the final 12 months of his existing £200k-a-week deal come the end of the season.
Should Spurs fail to get Kane to put pen to paper before the summer, Der FCB will push for him. Allianz Arena chiefs dream of having the striker in Bavaria. So, they will not back away despite extending Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s expiring terms for a further year on Friday.

Choupo-Moting was due to become a free agent at the end of this season but has signed a one-year extension. Yet Bayern Munich’s ideal attack for next season would have Kane join the 33-year-old. The Cameroonian has stepped up since Robert Lewandowski’s departure.
But Bayern Munich initially only valued Kane at around €50m (£44m), believing he is worth what Barcelona paid for Lewandowski. However, Allianz Arena chiefs now accept Spurs will never sell the striker that low given the England captain is five years younger than the Pole.

Just one of Kane’s 20 goals have come through his seven outings in the Champions League so far. Tottenham will hope he adds to that tally next Wednesday when AC Milan visit in the second leg of their Round of 16 tie. Bayern Munich lead Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in their tie.
