Garth Crooks has written on BBC Sport that Liverpool should make a move for Arsenal star Bukayo Saka.

The former Tottenham Hotspur forward has said that Saka has been outstanding for Arsenal this season.

The BBC pundit has urged Liverpool and Manchester United to splash the cash and raid Premier League rivals Arsenal for the winger in the summer transfer window.

Crooks made the comments about the 19-year-old while explaining his decision to include the England international in his Premier League Team of the Week.

The teenager started at left-back against West Bromwich Albion at the weekend and had a very good game.

Crooks wrote on BBC Sport: “Regular readers will know what I think of this lad. If Manchester United or Liverpool don’t get their hand in their pockets and buy him there is something seriously wrong with them.

“Bukayo Saka has been outstanding for Arsenal all season. He was their only shining light against Villareal on Thursday night and his performance against West Brom days later was devastating. Everybody is talking about Manchester City’s Phil Foden, this lad is just as good if not better.”

Saka is an Arsenal academy graduate and has established himself as an important player in the team.

The winger is pretty much guaranteed a place in manager Mikel Arteta’s side when he is fit and available.

Liverpool are not having the best of seasons, and an argument could be made that manager Jurgen Klopp needs to freshen up his attacking unit.

A winger who can also play at left-back and as a left wing-back who is quick, creative and dynamic such as Saka would make the Reds better.

However, it is hard to see Arsenal sell Saka this summer.

The teenager has scored five goals and provided three assists in 29 Premier League matches and scored two goals and gave three assists in nine Europa League games this season.
