Some Leeds United fans are reacting on Twitter to the signing of Sean McGurk.

The Whites have snapped up the 18-year-old attacker on a long-term contract from Wigan Athletic.

Some fans of the League One side weren’t delighted with the announcement that another one of their starlets has joined Leeds, after Joe Gelhardt moved to West Yorkshire last summer.

But Leeds supporters seem chuffed and here’s how they reacted on social media:

Reserves to start

McGurk will join up with Leeds’ Under-23 side originally.

Thorp Arch has an abundance of quality players in the ranks and it’ll be fascinating to see how he develops alongside them.

Sam Greenwood left Arsenal to join the Whites’ youth side last summer and although he didn’t get promoted to the senior squad at any point, there’s a lot of buzz surrounding the former Gunner after a brilliant first season in Yorkshire.

Another brilliant thing about Marcelo Bielsa is that if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.

Remember, Bielsa brought Jack Clarke through at the age of only 17 and Tottenham Hotspur wound up paying £10 million for him the following summer.

In terms of nurturing and developing young talent, the Argentine has a great reputation and hopefully for McGurk, he can make the right kind of noises next term.

Just because he won’t be with the seniors, it doesn’t mean Bielsa won’t be keeping an eye on the next generation.
