Roberto De Zerbi is confident that Evan Ferguson, who has been linked with a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur is destined to reach the top.
Football Daily shared a video of the former Sassuolo boss singing the Irishman’s praises, who was branded as Harry Kane’s ‘heir apparent’ in a report last month.
With Roberto De Zerbi himself speculated with becoming the next Tottenham Hotspur manager, he has now reserved special praise for Evan Ferguson.
Roberto De Zerbi praises Tottenham-linked Evan Ferguson
Unfortunately for Spurs, the 18-year-old signed a contract extension that kept him tied down at Brighton until 2028, as made official by the club’s website.
Considering Harry Kane has been heavily linked with an exit from his boyhood club, the teenager, who is often compared to the Englishman has been viewed as a natural successor to him in N17.
Whether Tottenham are able to wrap up a transfer for Evan Ferguson or not, Roberto De Zerbi clearly holds him in high regard.

“He seems, not like a normal 18-year-old. He’s a great player. He’s already a great player. I think he will become one of the best players and best strikers in the Premier League, and I would like, if he can stay with us for a lot of years.”
Evan Ferguson would be a cracking transfer for Spurs
With Roberto De Zerbi and Co. will play in the Europa League next season while Tottenham are likely to partake in the UEFA Conference League, Evan Ferguson is almost guaranteed to snub a transfer.
However, one can see why Ferguson would have been identified by the Lilywhites as an astute replacement for Kane, if he ends up leaving.
Much like Harry Kane, Evan Ferguson is known to be adept at dropping deep and linking play whilst being a threat inside the box.
Securing his services at such a young age would have been one hell of a long-term investment from Tottenham or any club.
However, a move to Spurs in particular is unlikely to come to fruition.
