Harry Redknapp has stated that he is ‘sure’ Harry Kane will now stay at Tottenham and there is no better club for him to be at, as he told talkSPORT.

The former Spurs boss added that it’s ‘great for the club’ and for Kane himself that he will stay put.

Whilst last summer, it was well-documented, starting with that interview with Gary Neville, that Kane was looking to leave.

Those types of noises aren’t coming out now, which would be music to Tottenham fans’ ears, especially with Erling Haaland signed up by Manchester City.

Yes, Kane is yet to extend his contract, it runs out in 2024, but Redknapp made it clear that he can’t see where else the player will go.

“You have to keep Harry Kane, haven’t you,” said Redknapp. “He’s the best centre-forward in the world, in my opinion.

“The best number nine and the best player of that type. I am sure he will stay.

“Manchester City last year, but that might have gone. That’s out of the window now and I don’t see where else he would want to go that’s better than Tottenham?!

“It’s great for him and it’s great for the club.”

CONTE AND KANE TO SIGN NEW CONTRACTS?

That would be the perfect summer transfer window for Spurs, even if they miss out on a few signings.

You aren’t going to get what you always want in the transfer window and that will probably prove to be the case here.

But the best thing Spurs and Daniel Levy can do is sign his star men – Antonio Conte and Kane – to new long-term contracts.

That would then provide clarity beyond the 2022/23 campaign because Conte has 12 months to run on his own contract.
