Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla claims Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on Tottenham striker Harry Kane in the event Robert Lewandowski leaves. Spurs have offered Kane a new contract this summer.

Set to turn 29 next month, Kane has two years remaining on his Tottenham contract. But this summer is a stark contrast to last summer, when Kane was on the verge of joining Manchester City. He seems happier at Spurs.

Of course, that is largely down to the arrival of Antonio Conte and qualifying for the Champions League. Spurs have made early moves in the transfer window too, bringing in Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.

Kane is now much more likely to stay at Spurs this summer – and Pedulla claims the club have offered him a new contract. But there is still interest, with Bayern likely to chance their arm, if and when Lewandowski goes.

Tottenham need to give Kane anything and everything he wants. The England skipper has outgrown Spurs. A move to Manchester City might no longer be feasible, but there is still interest in his incredible services.

So, Spurs have got to everything they can to tie down Kane to a new deal. Spurs are about to enter the final window in which they can request full price. Next summer, Kane will be 30, and in the final 12 months of his contract.

The only way they will entice Kane to sign a new deal, is if they meet both his and Antonio Conte’s ambitions in the transfer window. By bringing in some big signings, and making Spurs a side capable of a title shot.

There have also been murmurs over a potential move to Liverpool, with Jose Enrique urging his old side to sign Kane – claiming he is “very underrated”.
