Leeds United drew with Sunderland at Elland Road in the Championship at the weekend.

Pablo Hernandez is one of the best players in the current Leeds United team, and the Spaniard demonstrated his importance at the weekend during the Championship game against Sunderland at Elland Road.
The 32-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, scored the equaliser for Leeds in the 72nd minute of the match.

Former Leeds manager Eddie Gray was following the match, and he was impressed with the performance of Hernandez.
Gray told LUTV about Hernandez: “He was the man for us, I felt, if anyone going to turn the game for us or win the game for us, it was going to be him.”

Gray’s aforementioned comments reinforce the notion that Hernandez should be handed a new contract by Leed.
The former Swansea City star’s current contract with the West Yorkshire outfit runs out at the end of the season, and Leeds fans want the club to offer him a new contract, as reported by HITC Sport.
True, Hernandez will be 33 this week, but there is no doubt over the quality and calibre of the former Valencia star.
Few attacking midfield player in the Championship can produce moments of magic time and time again like Hernandez does, and it would be wise of Leeds to retain his services for the 2018-19 campaign in which the team will be aiming to finish in the top six of the division.
