Arsenal midfielder, Granit Xhaka, has taken to his Instagram story to post a clip of him getting back to fitness ahead of his return to pre-season.
The 28-year-old posted a clip of him on the treadmill with the words ‘no excuses’, as rumours intensify about his Arsenal future.
It seems as though Xhaka’s time at Arsenal is coming to an end and Roma is his favoured destination, but that has been the story for weeks now without any real movement.
There does seem to be some stumbling blocks in Arsenal and Roma agreeing on a fee for the combative midfielder.
But rumours have now also suggested that Xhaka has ‘no intention’ of playing their Premier League opener against Brentford in August.
Xhaka was given extra time off because he was competing at Euro 2020, but he will be due back in North London any time soon.
And whilst he would have hoped to be heading to the sunny climates of Italy, it seems as though another trip to London might be on the cards.
If Xhaka does leave, he will depart having been one of the most talked-about players in their recent history.
It’s going to be interesting to see how he does fare under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho in Rome because it does seem as though he has a lot to prove.
It’s going to be interesting to see how Xhaka’s career pans out compared to the path Arsenal head down during these next few years.
