Callum Wilson has been speaking to the Independent ahead of the Premier League clash between Newcastle and Tottenham on Sunday.
The Magpies have won three of their last four Premier League games, only dropping points in the 0-0 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford during that run.
In regards to Tottenham, the north Londoners have won three of their last five Premier League outings, but come into tomorrow’s game having just suffered a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford.
Interestingly, Wilson believes all the pressure is on Spurs ahead of the clash in N17.
Newcastle talisman puts the onus on Tottenham
Well, the Newcastle No.9 believes Tottenham are the ones with a point to prove tomorrow after losing to Manchester United, whereas the Magpies took points from the Red Devils.
The Independent quote the £20m man as saying: “We’ve gone to Man United, picked up a positive result then won at home, so you could say the pressure isn’t on us and the pressure is on Tottenham.”
In truth, Wilson is spot on.
The expectation is on Tottenham to grab the three points having won seven home games in a row, while there is also pressure on Antonio Conte to stay within touching distance of Arsenal and Manchester City at the summit.
If Spurs lose to Newcastle, it would quickly change any title race narrative that was beginning to creep in.
Newcastle can hurt Tottenham
Despite their 100% record at home this season, Tottenham have looked quite open in some of those games.
For example, Southampton took the lead in north London before Spurs turned it around to secure a 4-1 win, while Fulham also pushed Tottenham all the way in their 2-1 defeat.

Struggling Leicester also gave Spurs a difficult game, heading into half-time with the score at 2-2 before a tactical tweak from Conte ensured a 6-2 win.
Tottenham can often be very slow starters at home, so if Newcastle come storming out of the blocks, another three points could be in store for Wilson and his teammates.
