Football.London have raved about Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, and believe that the Switzerland international has taken his game to another level.

The website’s Arsenal writer, Kaya Kaynak, has rated Xhaka’s performance so far this campaign 9 out of 10.

The well-known and well-respected writer believes that the £100,000-a-week (SalarySport) midfielder has gone to another level under Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta this season, pointing out that he has been given more freedom to play in a box-to-box role.

Praise for Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka

Kaynak wrote about Xhaka in Football.London: “Much of the talk in the summer was about how Arsenal could improve in the left-eight position by turning to the transfer market. Little did those people know though, that the solution was at the club all along.

“Granit Xhaka has gone to another level with his performances this season and is finally being given the license to demonstrate his box-to-box capabilities in a Gunners shirt.

“He is absolutely thriving in the role and is an essential leader within the Arsenal squad.

“The fact that he has managed to win over the fanbase is beautiful to see and it’s probably not too controversial to say that he is one of the first names on Mikel Arteta’s team sheet.”

Brilliant turnaround

In our view, Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has turned around his fortunes at the Emirates Stadium and is now one of the first names on the teamsheet.

We all remember what happened between Xhaka and the Arsenal fans against Crystal Palace and how he was subsequently stripped off of the captaincy.

We also know how strongly he was linked with a move to AS Roma in 2021.

All that is in the past now.

Xhaka is doing extremely well for Arsenal at the moment and is now a leader in the middle of the park.

Yes, of course, at 29, Xhaka will not lose any of his old habits such as getting needless yellow and red cards, but he is playing more sensibly these days and is showing a lot of maturity.
