Tottenham Hotspur are doing better than expected this season, and one of the players who has come to the fore is Destiny Udogie.

Destiny Udogie has established himself as a regular in the Tottenham Hotspur starting lineup under head coach Ange Postecoglou.

Udogie is now the first-choice left-back at Spurs.

The Italy Under-21 international left-back is going from strength to strength.

The 20-year-old has given two assists in nine Premier League matches for Spurs this season.

Former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has been impressed with Udogie.

Merson told SportsKeeda: “Destiny Udogie was brilliant against Arsenal despite receiving an early yellow card.

“He was outstanding against a player of Bukayo Saka’s quality and has gone from strength to strength since the season began.”

My View: Destiny Udogie is a Tottenham Hotspur gem

In my opinion, Tottenham Hotspur left-back Destiny Udogie is a gem of a player.

I believe that Udogie would become a star for Spurs and could develop into a world-class left-back in the coming years.

Udogie is just 20 now, but he does have a lot of experience playing at the top level.

The youngster was a regular during his time at Udinese.

The Italian left-back made 31 starts and two substitute appearances in Serie A for Udinese last season, scoring three goals and giving four assists in the process.

During the 2021-22 campaign, Udogie made 29 starts and six substitute appearances in Serie A for Udinese.

The left-back scored five goals and provided four assists in those matches.

Tottenham paid Udinese £15 million (Sky Sports) in the summer of 2022 for Udogie.

It seems like a bargain price at the moment.

Spurs are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 23 points from nine matches.

Tottenham are two points clear of Manchester City and Arsenal, who are second and third respectively in the standings.

Spurs will take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in London in the Premier League on Friday evening.
