Alasdair Gold reports on Football London’s website that Troy Parrott was the fittest of Tottenham Hotspur’s players as Antonio Conte put on a 42 pitch-long run fitness drill that left Harry Kane being sick.
Tottenham’s players travelled to South Korea over the weekend ahead of games against a K-League all-star XI and Sevilla, on Wednesday and Sunday. In temperatures well north of 30°C, the players were put through their paces.

At the end of a two-hour session, the Spurs players underwent a drill in which the non-internationals had to run 42 lengths of the pitch. For those just returning, like Kane and Son Heung-min, they were tasked with doing 30.
Kane was seen being sick, Son had to stop – but Gold named the four players that led the way. Parrott was the fittest, despite being a part of Ireland’s squad. Sanchez, Gil and new boy Pape Matar Sarr were not far off the striker.
Gold: Parrott fittest in Conte fitness drill, Kane sick
It will have certainly caught the eye of Conte. Ireland international Parrott returns to Spurs off the back of a superb season with MK Dons. He had a hand in 17 goals during 47 appearances.
His Ireland form has also been eye-catching. Reports from earlier on on Monday state that Sunderland, QPR and Preston are eyeing a loan move. But his fitness, and potential form, in South Korea, might change his mind.
Spurs do have Richarlison on board, as cover for Harry Kane. Dane Scarlett, too. But if Parrott can show his quality as well as his fitness, perhaps Conte will be tempted to keep him on board over the next 12 months.
