Glen Johnson said on Sky Sports News (1:42pm, February 27, 2021) that reported Tottenham Hotspur target Nick Pope could leave Burnley at the end of the season.

According to The Daily Mail last month, Tottenham are interested in signing Pope from Premier League rivals Burnley in the summer of 2021, as covered by HITC Sport.

It has been reported that Tottenham want the 28-year-old as a potential replacement for Hugo Lloris.

Former West Ham United and Chelsea right-back Johnson, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, has said that the England international could be tempted to leave Burnley if bigger clubs come for him in the summer of 2021.

Johnson said about Pope on Sky Sports News (1:42pm, February 27, 2021): “For the personal career of the goalkeeper, he is naturally going to want to play for the biggest clubs possible, and those windows and doors only open at certain times in your career. So of course, if the big names come knocking, he is going to be interested and he is going to turn his shoulder.”

Tottenham Hotspur transfer?

Hugo Lloris is his mid-30s now and has made mistakes from time to time, and it is important that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy starts looking for a suitable replacement.

Pope is at the top of his game at the age of 28 and is ready to take the next step in his career and move to a bigger club.

Tottenham would be getting a very good goalkeeper if they are able to bring the 28-year-old to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer of 2021.
