Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has told the club’s official website that his side could not increase their goal difference against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool on Saturday.
Both Liverpool and Manchester City were in action in the Premier League today.
Klopp’s Liverpool got the better of Watford 2-0 at Anfield, thanks to goals from Diogo Jota and Fabinho (penalty).
Defending champions Manchester City got the better of Burnley 2-0 away from home at Turf Moor.
Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan scored the goals for the Citizens.
The result means that City are now a point clear of second-placed Liverpool at the top of the league table.
City have a goal difference of 52, while Liverpool’s is 57.
Guardiola is disappointed that his City players could not score more goals against Burnley.

Pep Guardiola on Liverpool v Manchester City
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss said: “We had two or three chances to score and kill the game and get more for our goal difference against Liverpool, but after an international break it always uncertain how the players will come back.”
Title race
In our opinion, the Premier League title race between Liverpool and Manchester City this season will go down to the wire.
Yes, Liverpool and City face each other this month, but that is unlikely to be decisive.
These two teams do not tend to drop too many points, but you never know what could happen in the final weeks of the campaign.
