Borussia Monchengladbach have reportedly identified two players who could replace Marcus Thuram, with the attacker set to leave Gladbach amid interest from the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham.
According to Bild, the Bundesliga side have settled on NK Osijek youngster Dion Drena Beljo and AZ Alkmaar star Vangelis Pavlidis as the two strongest candidates to replace Thuram should the forward leave Gladbach in the coming weeks amid intense transfer interest.
90min have recently claimed that Arsenal and Tottenham are just two Premier League sides interested in signing Thuram, with Manchester United and Newcastle United also in the race for the France international, who this season has been in outstanding form for Gladbach.
13 goals in all competitions won Thuram a spot in Didier Deschamps’ Les Bleus squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with the reigning world champions already through the next round following two wins against Australia and Denmark, and interest is only increasing in the attacker.

Atletico Madrid have recently joined the race alongside Arsenal and Thuram. And with Gladbach now identifying two players who could replace the 25-year-old forward, the German side are seemingly preparing for the attacker to leave Germany in the January transfer window.
Indeed, whilst Thuram is yet to shine in Qatar, the attacker’s involvement in a France squad that goes deep in a World Cup will likely only attract more interest in the versatile forward. And for Arsenal and Tottenham, this coupled with Gladbach finding replacements could make for a fascinating January window.
Arsenal and Tottenham could struggle in race to sign Thuram

Thuram has more than deserved the interest and recognition in the past few weeks based on his form at club level. Yet for the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham, actually signing the attacker feels like a bigger challenge than ever based on recent events.
After all, Thuram’s involvement with France in Qatar could only attract more interest. And with Gladbach now making the necessary steps to replace the 25-year-old, the battle to sign the forward could soon become one of the messiest in Europe, much to dismay of both Arsenal and Tottenham.
